I have a 1990 Nissan Maxima. I went around a corner, and then my car reved up real loud and the transmission just quit pulling. The car will start, but the transmission will not pull in any of the gears. It is an automatic. Any suggestions on where to start?

Welcome to NICO.

Did the car make any noises before it quit pulling?

Off the top of my head, I would say either a broken axle, or a transmission failure.

You can check for junk yard parts at http://www.car-parts.com

the only noise it made was that it revved up real loud...and the cv axles are in place and they are fine. what kind of failure? as in, what part of the transmission?

You'd never know what the extent of the damage is unless you tear the trans down. I think it would be more cost efficient to get a reman/rebuilt/low mileage junk yard replacement.

This place (in your home state) shows they have a trans for sale for $300. I'd at least call and see how many miles it had on it. http://www.a1autosalvage-ar.com/
