I don't know if this might apply to you or not, but my GF's uncle put a set of Titan wheels on his 04 Frontier. He said he had to have the hub bore center machined out as the Titan's is smaller than the Frontier. Could be something similar...

The hubs have the same dimensions, and no, the Titan wheels will not seat properly as is.... However, you can easily use a router and remove a groove of material from the hub opening on the wheels, or, if you're not concerned with tucking your tires inside the fenders- you can order aluminum adapters 6lug to 6lug, which will widen the truck's stance, and clear the hub. You will need at least 1" thick adapters to clear. I run 2" all around, and it works great!

... and you can find em for cheap!! I've got another set in Socal for $300. (no shipping sorry!)

Any chance you could post a picture of this groove that needs to be ground off? There is a set on Craigslist nearby, but he's asking something like $1000 for them. Not sure if he'd budge. If it's not that much metal, and you guys have done it successfully - I might venture into it with the idea of hitting it with a dremel tool.

I see Titan wheels sell all the time for as low as $400. Many times it will have decent tires on them too. $1000 seems steep. I know Ebay has a bunch of Titan wheels up for sale. I may be checking out a set of the 17" Off-road wheels this weekend for my Titan.

WOW! $1000!!?? Keep looking! A lot of times, people will buy 20's and bigger tires and are left with a spare set of Titans taking up room.... $400-500 is a decent price. As far as how to bore the wheels, check this link:

hope it helps!

$1K is steep. He says the tires are brand new, and since I need new tires I can justify $500 or so, but not that much. I'm going to have to look up the overall diameter of the stock Titan vs. Hardbody tire/wheel combo. I'm a little afraid to go up too much and kill the little bit of acceleration that I have with the 4 banger...

Thanks for the link! It makes it very clear what needs to be done - and I already have the router. Love the "sock gloves" in the video.

I wouldn't worry about killing acceleration too much- you're running the 'DE motor, and unless you are running 60 series tires or larger, you'll just enjoy better handling and road feel! I run between 35-45 series tires and they're about the same height as stock.
