06 volume problems

Hello. So heres the deal. my radio turns on and the cds work but my volume knob doesn't raise or bring down the volume. ive tried disconnecting the terminals and unplugged the plugs in back of the cd changer... went to tried to put everything back together it still didn't work.. can someone help me please? i don't know too much about this and any help can be appreciative ... please help an Infiniti brother out.

It would be worth posting this in the M forum as well... I ran a quick search and didn't see anything in particular for this issue. One mention of the dealership replacing the amplifier under warranty for no sound, but that's about it.
