I have an 05 pathfinder, recently my Air Conditioning high pressure line sprung a leak. Unfotunatelly this seems to be quite common on the pathy under the drivers side... I have repaired the line and replaced the dryer. I am affraid I have lost lubricant and that the lubricant may be saturated with water. Because of this I would like to change and top up the compressor lubrucant. I can not find anywhere that will tell me the amount of lubricant that should be in the comperssor. The compressor is a DKS17D.
Would anybody know how much lubricant should be in this compressor?

I bought a QX4 a few months ago and the receiver dryer had a hole in it. I imagine the system had been empty for a while, but I just swapped in a junk yard dryer and filled it up w/ a can of AutoZone synthetic R134a. My FSM (Factory Service Manual) calls for "type s" oil... but I never found any cans that actually said what type of oil it has. IMO, virtually all common R134a systems can take any can of R134a.

Just buy a can that has a moisture control / remover and oil, and fill it up. Just make sure you check the gauge and don't over fill.

Also, download your year's FSM: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/

EDIT...

Also, if you plan on changing the oil, I assume you have a vacuum and manifold / gauge set?

Thanks for your reply NismoPick. I actually have a bottle of Pag46 (equivelent to "type s")AC oil I want to use. I intend on removing the compressor to empty it. The manual says to measure the amont that came out of the compressor and just put the same amount of new oil back in. My thought while surfing the web trying to take a crash course on AC 101 is that if you have a leak a certain amount of oil will will leak with the refrigerant. Just to be sure that the compressor isn't starved for oil and blow up, I would like to refill it with the correct amount of Pag oil. I have not been able to find what that amount is.

See page ATC-174 of the factory service manual for lubricant capacity.

Thanks Townsivilian, I did see this in the manual. Seems like a lot for just the compessor according to other web sites. I assumed this was the whole system. Do you think, (looking at the manual) 7.4 imperial oz is the whole system amount? Im trying to understand how the lubricant is originally put in the system. I.e. all lubricant is put in the compressor first then the first time the system is run it is dispersed around into other compnents like the dryer and condencer etc. So now that I have had a mojor leak and I am replacing the dryer which is supposed to hold a littl under 1 oz, I don't know how much lubricant has leaked out. So what I am trying to figure out is what is the minimum amount of lubricant that should be in the compessor for it to run safely.
