Hey everyone,
I've been having a problem with my 2004 QX56 for nearly a few years now but the problem has been getting worse lately. On occasion when my navigation system is up and running, my screen will change colors from the standard navigation white to pink and purple when the nav is in the "day" mode. If it's in the "night" mode, the black turns sort of a green color. I noticed this a few years back, mainly when I would hit a bump or something. The screen would flicker with these weird colors but usually go back to normal right away. Now it changes to these colors w/o hitting a bump ...half the time I drive, the screen displays these weird colors. While the truck was under warranty, I took it to the dealer who replaced the display screen but that did not solve the problem. My thought is that it is either the wiring from the head unit to the screen or the head unit itself and if I could pick one, it would be the wiring b/c we had a similar problem at work with our LG flatscreen. It started displaying a pink screen while laptops were hooked to it and IT diagnosed it as a bad cable. Since my display changes colors more often when I hit a bump, the wiring could be bad and when jarred a bit, causes it to flicker. The screen does not change colors outside of navigation mode, so if I am displaying fuel mileage or tire pressures or other information, the color stays normal all the time. Also, I have the display screen linked to my DVD player and when I play movies on the front display screen, it never changes colors. This only happens when my navigation is up and running.
Anyone have this problem and if so, did you resolve it and how if so?
Thanks!
Steve
