Hi,

I own a 2004 G35 Coupe that recently hit 110k miles (VIN JNKCV54E74M303078).

My engine recently gave up and a friend that owns a shop is in the process of replacing some of the parts.

Here is the list of parts that need to be replaced:
- Crankshaft,
- Piston,
- Rod

According to him, I will need to be looking for ONLY 03-04 G35 parts with production date of 08/2003 or earlier
However, I am only able to see production dates of 09/2003 and 10/2003
Would you please clarify? Also, can I use Nissan 350z parts from the same year (03-04)?

Also, do you know of a site to purchase these parts from? I have come across the following links but according to the shop owner, none are compatible:

Crankshaft only -- $225 Shipped
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Q701-CRANKSHAFT ... 1364005811

Crankshaft with Main and connecting Rod -- $365.05 Shipped

Welcome to NICO!

Personally, I would look into a used engine. At the end of the day, it should be a lot cheaper and should still give you lots of good life left.

You have a DE motor. You can used any 03-04 G sedan or coupe motor or any 05-07 coupe motor with an automatic tranny or 05-06 sedan with an automatic tranny. You can also use parts and a motor for a 350z. Any 03-04 and only 05-06 motors with an automatic tranny.
